I've loved Jimi since I heard him backing Little Richard. It was a time of intense political division. He enlisted in the army and served in the 101st airborne until he claimed to have homosexual tendencies. He was granted an honorable discharge. Antiwar sentiment was high. I served too and was spit on at the airport coming home. You had to through it to understand. When he dedicated this to the American deserters org., I think it would have been more honest if had deserted himself .

This was not my generation's music. We still had songs that bore excellent lyrics, but this album is of a time lyrics were unequaled and probably will never be this good again. Cat Stevens was one of these amazing poets with the enviable one-two punch of poet and guitarist.

I'm glad you all like the album. my dad, Lou Waxman, was the engineer on that album. actually, he did most of Dylan's albums and have two gold and one platinum record. I still have the gold record awarded to him for engineering thIs album hanging on my "Dylan wall"
